Poste en études coraniques – Institute of Ismaili Studies

Le Institute of Ismaili Studies propose un poste de chercheur associé à plein temps en études coraniques pour le département de recherches universitaires et de publications. Date limite de candidature: 31 mai 2011.
Your main responsibilities will be to undertake research as part of current and future projects related to Ismaili studies with a view towards preparing specific works for publication. Other duties include translating classical texts, preparing critical editions, organising academic projects (multi-author publications and conferences), and possibly also teaching at the Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities of the IIS. You will also participate in all relevant meetings, workshops and conferences and in other related research at the IIS.
The position requires a PhD in Islamic Studies and preference will be given to candidates with specialisations in the following areas related to Ismaili history, theology, thought and other related topics and a strong publication record. An advanced knowledge and experience in working with classical Arabic and/or Persian texts is essential. The ideal candidate will also possess an excellent command of the English language and attention to detail. Start date negotiable.
